If you ever played Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing, you're going to find similarities here beyond the art style!Ĭombat is "Original NES Legend of Zelda" style simple, and the game loop primarily revolves around deciding you want something new for the farm, and then getting the materials to do it. Some player-limits keep the gameplay tight and somewhat more focused than Slime Rancher (Character happy to ranch for a week without sleep? Price goes down, silo gets full) and minimize the amount of time you spend 'selling' as opposed to 'exploring' and 'ranching'.Īnother casual game I'd recommend looking into (if you haven't) is: Stardew Valley Taking care of slimes is mostly just about penning them up, feeding them periodically and manipulating plort prices using silos (sell or hold?) to maximize your ROI (price go up, sales go up. Mentioned elsewhere is the racing minigame, but if you enjoy 'wanderlust' type exploration (go and see, figure out what/want to do later) then this may appeal more broadly. Plenty to see and do here, as long as you like collecting things and the general premise of slime-ranch-care-and-feeding. ![]() Slime Rancher is a good choice for a 'very casual exploration and relaxation' management game. CAVEAT: This owner has only Slime Rancher and cannot address Spiritfarer, as they plan to buy it to play in co-op. ![]()
